ABOUT THE BLOG

I have taught English as a second language for secondary schools in Malaysia for many years and am always looking for ways to make my lessons more engaging and exciting.  This blog was created with the intention of exchanging ideas with other like-minded people who want to help students of English reach their maximum potential in the language.  A lot of the techniques shown are adapted from the vast amount of available knowledge found on the Internet.  They are modified and developed to cater for the unique local circumstances found in Malaysian schools.

Another purpose of the blog is to stimulate my students to write in a more interesting and creative way, so I intend to put in some of the students' work as a reward for their efforts. This blog will hopefully become a reference point for this year and future generations of students.

It must be pointed out English is our second language and mistakes will be made, but I firmly believe in the principle of practice makes, if not perfect, more competent.

As for my teacher friends, I hope this will inspire you with more creative ideas, therefore making learning fun and effective for your students.

That sounded way too serious, but it’s not meant to be. Write and read for fun and learn along the journey we are all taking.

Please feel free to comment. I would appreciate your feedback on how to improve any of the posts.
